EMU Athletics’ Season Previews and Success Stories

Excitement is brewing among football fans as the Mid-American Conference recently unveiled the official schedule for the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) football team’s 2024 season. With five home games and six on the road, it’s shaping up to be an eventful season for the Eagles.

The season kicks off with non-conference games, starting with a faceoff against the University of Massachusetts on August 31st, followed by a showdown with the University of Washington on September 7th. The Eagles will then return home for a rematch with Jacksonville State on September 14th, before hosting St. Francis.

MAC play begins on September 28th against Kent State University. October brings more action as EMU faces Miami University and intrastate rival Central Michigan University at home, with a trip to Akron to close out the month.

November sees four weeks of intense battles, starting with a home game against the University of Toledo on November 2nd. Mid-week MACtion takes the team to Ohio University on November 13th, followed by a home game against the University at Buffalo on November 20th. The season finale against rival Western Michigan University will be held in Kalamazoo on November 30th.

In other sports news, EMU’s senior gymnast Raisa Boris continues to shine, earning her fourth Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week honor. Boris’ outstanding performance against Kent State University contributed to the team’s impressive score of 196.450, securing her sixth consecutive all-around win of the season.

On the tennis courts, the EMU tennis team celebrated Senior Day in style, defeating the University of Findlay with a resounding 6-1 victory. Seniors Linda Eloundou and Andrea Quiroz were honored for their contributions to the program before the match, setting the stage for an unforgettable day of tennis action.
