Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Series: Thinner Bezels and Bigger Displays
Apple is gearing up to launch its iPhone 16 series this September, and if the latest leaks are anything to go by, the new models will come with some exciting design changes. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to feature the thinnest bezels ever seen on a smartphone.
According to well-known leaker Ice Universe, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will have bezels measuring just 1.2mm, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will boast even thinner bezels at 1.15mm. This is a significant reduction from the iPhone 15 series, which already impressed with bezel sizes under 2mm.
This advancement in display technology is attributed to Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. This innovative approach bends the wiring and circuitry near the panel edges downwards, allowing for a sleeker and more immersive screen experience. Ice Universe has shared images comparing the new iPhone 16 Pro series to the current iPhone 15 models, highlighting the noticeable difference in bezel size.
However, those hoping for a full-screen display or the removal of the Dynamic Island will be disappointed. The leaked images indicate that the Dynamic Island pebble notch will remain in the iPhone 16 series.
Besides the thinner bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro series is also expected to feature slightly larger displays. The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max might come with a 6.9-inch display, providing users with more screen real estate.
As with all leaks and rumors, it’s important to take this information with a grain of salt until Apple officially unveils the new models. Nonetheless, if these leaks hold true, the iPhone 16 Pro series is shaping up to be a noteworthy upgrade in Apple’s lineup, combining sleek design with advanced display technology.
